    Looking to buy an 86

Hi Guys, new to this forum so not sure if I posted this in the right section
Am looking at buying a used 86 for less than $20k now that the prices have gone down. Was planning to do some minor suspension upgrades as well as rims + tyres.
Is it a complete no go to go for a modified one? The one I'm looking at has had some modifications which are listed in this link.

A few things I'm concerned about
    1. It seems fishy that so much money has been spent on suspension etc, but no real engine mods?
    2. Could this have had a supercharger/turbo on it and been converted back? Is there any way to find this out?

This car has been up there for almost 20 weeks, so I'm just paranoid. Would probably offer something less, due to the amount of time it's been up. For the amount of kit it seems quite good, did my own little research (probably wrongly) and found that the mods (without labour) came to around $8000ish
Would love to be an owner of an 86 but I gotta make sure I get the right one.
    Thanks in advance

That's a base model GT & the first 2012 one at that. Look @ FB & you will see what ppl are doing, I guess more profitable to sell off parts than sell the whole kit. Some will pay extra for complete car if tastefully done I guess as parts aren't cheap to buy & then install. A lot will depend on owner & how it was treated. Suspension mods are easy if done right, engine is expensive & not really necessary, then again susp mods aren't really necessary either unless you want more & get sucked in by others in forums etc . . .

Essentially do you're homework WELL, recommend a trustworthy & competent mechanic to thoroughly check it before laying out the $$, it shouldn't be too hard to tell if previously modded. Good luck.
