Post TRD Strut brace + Motion Control Beam review

    Morning again guys!

Just a quick write up of the TRD Motion Control Beam mod with the strut brace mod. I will also say that i installed TRD door stabilizers as well at the same time.

Everything i have order from TRD japan has been simply but superbly packaged in unassuming normal boxes which worked for me because i had to keep them in the car for a few days on the rear seat. The carbon fibre strut brace was wrapped up the 9's in bubble wrap, all nuts and bolts and washers all came with it even though i reused just about everything i had after i removed the stock equipment.

Installation wise it was a bit of a headache as i needed to change a couple of mounts so that both sets of braces could work together and the directions were in japanese

First drive: There is a road of choice that i drive in Perth up in the hills. The road is more of a mid speed type with narrow width and an average surface finish with lots of rises and dips which the 86 tends to love. The chassis feels much tighter and i can feel the suspension working more but smoother. Car definitely feels more responsive and sharper however it has highlighted the soft sidewalls of the stock standard tires and made them more apparent. Turnin is crisper and have noticed a slight stability improvement under brakes in the rear end though lift off still sends the tail into gentle oversteer.

In short: Is it worth the $900 odd AUD...? That kind of money can be better spent on other things yes i will admit. However my experience of TRD equipment now has lead me to draw a single conclusion: TRD make parts to ENHANCE the characteristics of the car, no to change them. Do these products do this? Yes they do... As for is it worth it? For me, i am happy with how it all worked out and now how the car feels. I have a genuine product that Toyota Aus cant have a hissy fit over and my car now stands out a little and does what it does best - a little better now. So yes im happy

    Hope this helps guys!
