    Hi guys,

may be an odd question but give it a read and give me a reply pls.
I've had my 86 for 18 months, still driving on the original tyres the car came with (I know ... ashamed) and apart from the tyres being rubbish in the wet they have been alright I guess. BUT I had 4 punctures in a year (three of them in the same tyre). Considering that I only did like 35000 kms on them it seems a bit excessive (still plenty of tread). I've been driving for well over a decade, averaging 80-100,000 kms a year and never had a single puncture. Then I bought the 86 and 4 in a year ?
So my question, are the tyres such a crap or am I just seriously unlucky ?!? Anyone experienced more than usual amount of punctures with the stock Michelins ?

    Cheers

Doesn't answer your question, but what is it about bagging out the stock tyres?. I drive mine every day, have done a couple of track days and find no real issue with them. In fact after a decent wheel alignment using an 'aggresive' street setting, it grips even better. Are people caught up in the hype of the budget prius tyre or what?. Too much grip destroys the very essence of this car.

You are right as well as wrong. The essence of the car is to have safe fun... had alignment done few weeks ago. Can't say If good one or bad, not under my control. In wet the tyres lose traction extremely easily (from understeer to sliding side ways - not overstear) not talking about taking a corner under full throttle, talking about normal driving. They just don't grip. Also if I revv it in a straight line I'll get wheel spin in 1st , 2nd and now even in 3rd gear on dry road. In wet even worse (got stock NA engine with no modificstions) Again no grip, as we all know the car doesn't have that much power to spin the wheels in any gear... so tyres aren't the best ones (still planty of tread) I am not saying I need semi slicks I want to have fun but too much is too much . That's all...

Hmm. On 24/10/2018 I can't see 215/45's listed under Bridgestone Turanza serenity plus. 215/50's are the closest. Would that explain?
