    Toyota 86 recall

Looks like dealers will be busy in the next few months, also includes the BRZ apparently.

My recall letter arrived yesterday , but i won't be the first test mule for an apprentice to hack my car!
It might be good to wait until they do a few and learn to get it done right!
Sorry about the ranting from previous experience with dealer "technicians".

Anybody else received their recall letter yet? I certainly haven't even after going in to the dealer and ensuring they had my correct mailing address.

Now heading for late November and still no recall letter, is this all just a bullsh*t beat up???

Was this just a media beat-up? Anybody received a recall letter? I certainly haven't.

I phoned my local dealer and they checked my vin and said it needs to come in for the airbag/power steering recall.
They also said that there is another recall for handbrake adjustment , but my car is not included in this.
I asked if they could do my recall when they do my routine service early next year , and that is okay because my brz has only done 16000kms.

It seems you are the only person in this forum who has had a recall letter, strange.....

Yesterday my recall and a routine fixed price service was done.
They replaced the PS wiring harness and rhd ECU.
The new ECU learnt the fuel trims in just 50ks instead of the previous 200ks.
Now the torque delivery is much smoother and the throttle blip on downshifts is great.
No more bogging down when launching in first!
My only rant is the $207 fixed price service is now $261 due to environment levies!
I hope my $54 can take some water to farmers!

You got a new engine ECU ? Is your car first batch mid 2012 ? My understanding was a new EPS ECU & harness.
