    Toyota & BMW Alliance

Look's like Toyota & BMW have teamed together co-develop another sports car, similar to the 86/BRZ/FR-S.

Drive - Toyota and BMW to build Supra or Celica replacement

Could see a new Supra or Celica sometime soon!!

Okay that I could wait for. Hahaha.
So the idea is to keep the 86 for 4 years then convert over. Lol.
    The waiting game begins... Again.

yeah id say it would be a new supra, fitting in between the GT86 and the IS-F. So probably a twin-turbo six similar to the 1M. market it at about 1500kgs with about 290kws? sounds about right.
i mean, we need to consider the price would be around 70-90k, with decent emissions, low-ish weight, RWD and probably a 6cyl of some sort to keep in with the supra heritage?
If they did make a Celica, i think it would make too much competition for the 86, plus the pricing wouldn't be right.
    So either a L6TT or high-revving v8 (possibly utilizing Toyota's D-4S system?)
There is just so much to take into consideration, and i think the 1500kg/RWD high-rev, low emmsion option sounds like something Toyota would want, and BMW obviously knows a lot about these with its V8s/L6's.

note; it would probably become toyotas version of the 370Z with power figures and weight similar.

Speaking about BMW, i stumbled upon the specs for the E30 M3 and the specs are so similar to the 86...everything from performance, weight distribution, tyre width, brake sizes 1988 BMW M3 E30 technical specifications
It must be the modern day reincarnation...

Just a small update/note, toyota released more info. they confirmed that the they will be making a sports car sharing a BMW platform, most probably that of a 6-series coupe.
Also, the next F80 M3 is gonig to have a 450hp Turbo Straight-6.
Now if this doesnt scream supra?!...
the only thing is, i wonder what Toyota will bring to the table?
Lastly, yeah it probably will take 3-4 years.
