Subaru BRZ deliveries pushed to next year in Japan, due to unexpectedly high demand

The seems to be the most popular of three rear-wheel-drive sports coupes that have come from the mash-up between and (the other two being the and the ). It was reported last week that dealers are asking for $5,000 over the model’s base price of $25,495.

According to ’s business daily Nikkei, deliveries of the have been pushed to January 2013 due to overwhelming demand in the country.

Subaru’s Gunma factory is unable to keep up with the production to meet the delivery numbers, which are about four times more than the amount originally anticipated.

It is unclear how this move will affect other markets – including Australia, but it may mean that we get even fewer on our market than initially expected.
