Subaru BRZ Price Inflation; Some Dealers Charging over $5000

One dealer has decided to inflate the price of the 20 allocated to its dealership by an exuberant $5000. This is understandable since supply and demand are the rules of a free market economy. The dealership also proudly boasted that a number of the cars had already been preordered at these .

This shows the sheer attention and popularity that the and its and Toyota counterparts have attracted around the world and in popular media. Further reasons why the dealership is able to charge these prices are, exclusivity as not many of these will be on the road, especially when they are limited editions.

In the USA this would push the price of the vehicle to a hefty $31,265, which would allow a typical american to get a number of locally made cars that offer a significant number of horses above the BRZ. Funnily enough even at these overinflated prices, the Subaru BRZ would be an absolute bargain in . A Toyota dealer in Florida slapped a $7,000 “value adjustment” on all the Prius Cs it sold. Given that, maybe a $5,000 premium isn’t so bad even in USA.
