Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ ANCAP Video Crash Tests

Below are the results of the and Australian ANCAP safety tests. The vehicles performed very well and earned a full five starts. Even though the videos may show one vehicles or the other due to them being virtually identical the same results would be expected. It is re-assuring to know that and Subaru have both managed to make such a lightweight and very safe sports car. We hope that not many of these beauties are exposed in a car crash however. Toyota and Subaru BR-Z ANCAP Frontal Offset (Five Stars)

The BRZ scored 14.97 out of 16 in the offset crash test. The passenger compartment held its shape well. There was a slight risk of serious chest injury for the passenger and a slight risk of serious leg injury for the driver and passenger.

The vehicle scored 15.43 out of 16 in the side impact crash test. There was a slight risk of serious chest injury for the driver.
Body region scores out of 4 points each: Head 4pts, chest 3.43 pts, abdomen 4pts, pelvis 4pts.

Toyota 86 and Subaru BR-Z ANCAP Side Pole Impact (Five Stars)

The BRZ was eligible for a pole impact test, since it had head-protecting side airbags. The BRZ earned the maximum two points in this test.
