VIDEO: Toyota Engineers Explains GT 86 in Bad English!

Tetsuya Tada, ’s Chief Engineer for the development of the GT sports coupe, was on hand at the Geneva Motor Show to explain his ‘baby’. For whatever reason, at the Swiss venue he chose to speak about the car in English.

Now, when German engineers don’t know proper English, they stick to their mother tongue. But we’re glad that Tada-san chose not to do this, because otherwise we wouldn’t have heard “everybody can be a big smile” in an official statement!

The 200 horsepower wonder of the RWD world made its official European debut at the first major show of the year, Geneva. This car comes with a 2.0-liter boxer engine developed by and featuring Toyota’s D-4S direct injection technology. It delivers 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque (151,2 lb-ft) at 6,600.
